As part of her presentation for the RHA, Diana Copperwhite ARHA will show recent large-scale paintings and a site-specific wall drawing.

Diana Copperwhite, born 1969, lives and works in Dublin. Copperwhite has exhibited widely in Ireland and abroad. Recent solo exhibitions include A Million and One Things Under the Sun, Kevin Kavanagh, Dublin, 2015, Shadowland, 532 Gallery Thomas Jaeckel, New York, 2014, solo presentations at Volta NY, 2013 and at PULSE NY, 2015 where she was nominated for the PULSE prize. Recent group shows include, Winter Salon, 532 Gallery Thomas Jaeckel, New York, 2016, Into the Light; The Arts Council-60 Years of Supporting the Arts, Crawford Art Gallery, Cork, 2013, Painting Now, Ron Mandos, Amsterdam, 2012, Making Familiar, Temple Bar Gallery, Dublin, 2012, The Fold, Visual Centre for Contemporary Art, Carlow, 2011, Collecting the New: Recent Acquisitions to the IMMA Collection, Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, 2010 and Eclipse of a Title, Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris, 2009. Copperwhite was awarded the AIB Art Prize in 2007 and her work is held in many important public collections including the Office of Public Works, the Irish Museum of Modern Art, the Arts Council of Ireland, Limerick City Gallery of Art, Dublin Institute of Technology as well as private collections in Ireland, across Europe and in the United States. During 2016, a Monograph will be published with a text by Professor Gail Levin. Gail Levin (PhD, Rutgers University) is Professor of Art History, American Studies, and Women Studies at Baruch College and the Graduate Center of CUNY. She is an art historian who has been widely published, specialising in art of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, with diverse research interests that include the work of Edward Hopper, Marsden Hartley, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, Judy Chicago and women artists. Copperwhite’s upcoming shows include a solo exhibition at 532 Gallery Thomas Jaeckel, New York in October until November 2016.
